| The screen space is a very important concept in film research,and space consciousness is also the basis for judging whether a film director has film thinking.It has become a considerable part as a common genre of films in the Chinese film industry.In Hong Kong,the gangster movie,a symbol of the local culture,is one of the most excellent types of movies.And what attracts me a lot is that this kind of movie can display urban space in Hong Kong.With the changes of time and society,the ways in the space creation and application of Hong Kong gangster films have undergone massive changes in the past 15 years.It is believed that the adoption of CEPA played an essential role in Hong Kong film industry,and that CEPA made films change a lot.I select several Hong Kong gangster movies which represent the space creation and native culture.I analyze the specific audio-visual language and film texts according to the theory and thinking of screen theory.This essay not only presents some typical scenes of those movies,but also make readers have a better understanding about the space function and space cultural experience which are combined with film images.The thesis is mainly divided into three parts.The first chapter elaborates the screen space and the necessity of space research on Hong Kong gangster films since CEPA.The second chapter selects some outstanding Hong Kong gangster films after CEPA,focusing on the analysis of objective space characteristic and outline.I try to stand in the shoes of directors to analyze how the space works as well as space narrative.In addition.imaginative space,a new elements of gangster films,will be discussed in this section.The third chapter presents the development of space culture during these 15 years.And after observation and research of Hong Kong gangster films,I hope I can work out some different types of imaginative spaces which experienced a great impact of CEPA.Finally,expect to explore the patterns and laws applied in space operation and the cultural background which affected its formation. |
