The Consecutive Interpreting Practical Report On The Method Of Long And Difficult Sentences Under Skopostheorie

In the past five years,China's economy and culture have gradually come to the center of the world stage.At present,lots of documentaries introduce culture,economy and history in China.The English translation of these documentaries is rather rough and these documentaries have not been effectively disseminated.Therefore,the effective translation of these documentaries will promote the international community's understanding of China's economic development and cultural level in the new era,promote the rapid development of China's tourism industry,and improve the influence of China's economy and culture in the world.This practice report takes the culture,economy and history documentary Our Five Years in CCTV Documentary Channel as an example,and selects two episodes to simulate consecutive interpreting.This documentary mainly introduces the main achievements of the Chinese people in economy,trade and culture in the past five years,and its production is excellent.As a translation corpus,it has social application and dissemination value.Through the translation of documentary,the translator finds that the key to solve the problem and to improve the effectiveness of translation is to deal with the long and difficult sentences in Chinese English consecutive interpreting.Through the study,we find that the problems of long sentence in the process of translation include loose sentences,lack of logic,part of the information repeated before and after,and complex sentence structure,too long sentences,redundant information and so on.By using the theory of Skopostheorie,the corresponding solutions are found,including additional interpretation,part of speech conversion,disassembly and reorganization,deletion,free translation,information integration,discourse interpretation,and the reorganization of the original language and so on.Through the translation practice,this paper puts forward the effective strategies to deal with the problem of long difficult sentence translation,in order to provide reference for the translation practice of culture,economy and history interpretation in the future.
