Reading is an extremely important part of English teaching,so using reasonable teaching methods to improve the reading ability of high school students can greatly improve their English scores.With the promulgation of the New English Curriculum Standards,many English teachers have tried to apply the task-based teaching method to the English class teaching.Studies show that though the task-based teaching has achieved certain effect,there are still problems such as low reading efficiency and lack of reading enthusiasm.One teaching method in English reading class cannot meet the need of English teaching.In order to improve students' reading ability,this study uses the results of task-based reading research to introduce interactive reading mode into task-based teaching method.Based on a large number of research results on task-based teaching methods and interactive reading modes at home and abroad,80 students from two parallel classes in the second year of Gaizhou No.2 High School are research subjects.This study uses quantitative and qualitative research methods to study the following questions:(1)In what way can the task-based teaching in interactive reading mode influence students' learning initiative?(2)How can students' strategy awareness and reading skills improve after applying task-based teaching in interactive reading mode?(3)How does task-based teaching method in interactive reading mode affect students' English reading performance? The experiment lasted for five months and all experimental data was analyzed by SPSS 17.0.The results show that compared with the single task-based teaching method,the task-based teaching method in interactive reading mode can effectively improve students' reading interest,cultivate students' good reading habits and improve students' reading autonomy and enthusiasm.In addition,students can choose different reading skills and strategies according to different reading questions and then change their reading speed.The average reading performances of students have also increased significantly.This study proves that task-based teaching method in interactive reading mode can effectively improve students' reading ability.It is hoped that his study can offer some useful suggestions for English reading teaching of senior high school.
