| The book Zhong Guo De Hao Nv Ren Men,as Xinran's masterpiece,enjoys great popularity in western countries.The research on its English version is of great significance.Through the comparison between the source text and the target text,the thesis finds that addition and omission are the most prominent features in the target text,which probably accounts for its being widespread abroad.Based on the phenomenon,the author uses information theory as guidance to explore some useful translation techniques to guide future translation practices better so that Chinese literature can be effectively spread abroad.The research conducts a discussion from two aspects: 1)factors affecting the efficient transmission of information;2)how the translator's handling accelerates the transmission of information.Through the analysis,it is found that in The Good Women of China: Hidden Voice,the source text,target readers,and the translator constitute three main influential factors.Due to inherent language and cultural differences between Chinese and English,it is inevitable to cause noise during information transmission,which can be regarded as the enemy of effective information transmission.Besides,the limited channel capacity of target readers causes their lower decoding ability,thereby affecting their reading effect.The translator,as a mediator,faced with the interference of noise and the narrow channel capacity of target readers mainly adopts the addition to make up for the defaulted information and improve target readers' decoding ability of the information.The translator in the face of some redundant expressions in the source text mainly adopts the omission to compress information,aiming at alleviating the channel capacity of target readers and accelerating the transmission of the information. |
