David Pepper is one of the representatives of Ecological Marxism in British.Pepper's Ecological Marxism was gradually formed under the background of global ecological crisis and the vigorous development of western ecological movement.It absorbed a variety of ecological thoughts and realized the academic turn from geography to Ecological Marxism.The most fundamental difference between Pepper's Ecological Marxist thought and other thinkers of this genre is that other thinkers have explained the root causes of ecological crisis from the perspective of ideology,and he pointed out from the perspective of historical materialism that the root cause of ecological crisis is Capitalist mode of production,with a clear "red" stance on seeking solutions.Pepper to explore the way to solve the problem of ecological crisis,he criticizes the postmodern ecological center,technology center,suggest using Marxist Ecological centre doctrine,reshape new anthropocentrism,emphasizes the human subjectivity,and analyses the anarchism thought,advocate socialist and anarchist to coalition,to jointly build a fair,justice,ecological socialism democracy.Pepper's Ecological Marxist thought system is relatively complete,which provides a new perspective for human beings to solve the ecological crisis.There are basically no special works on Pepper's Ecological Marxism in the academic circle at home and abroad.Based on the three works of Pepper and combined with the current global ecological problems,this paper intends to analyze Pepper's Ecological Marxism.The specific content of this paper is as follows:First of all,the introduction mainly introduces the significance of this paper,research status,research methods,innovation and shortcomings.Secondly,the social background and theoretical conditions of the formation of Pepper's Ecological Marxism theory are analyzed.Thirdly,introduce the essence of Pepper's Ecological Marxism.First,analyze and criticize the ecological crisis theory of environmentalism.Second,multi-dimensional analysis of capitalism is the root of the ecological crisis.Third,put forward the strategy to solve the capitalist ecological crisis.On the one hand,Pepper reshaped the idea of anthropocentrism.Some postmodernist scholars attribute the ecological crisis to anthropocentrism and refuse to admit that it is related to the capitalist system,while Pepper puts forward the "weak" anthropocentrism.Pepper,on the other hand,believes that solving the ecological crisis requires social change.After determining the reform route and the main force of the red and green alliance,the paper summarizes the beautiful blueprint of the future ecological socialism outlined by Pepper.Finally,this paper reviews the theoretical value,practical value and limitations of Pepper's Ecological Marxism,makes a comprehensive and dialectical analysis of it from the standpoint of marxist philosophy,points out its scientificness and limitations,and makes a summary and prospect of the above chapters.
