The taboos contains the meaning of “cannot commit and if found guilty will be punished”.The taboos has special characteristics.Every nation or country has unique taboos that are different from other countries.China and Indonesia also have special taboos.Taboos are a big obstacle in communication.For international students,it is also a hindrance in the learning process.This article holds a study from the daily taboos of China and Indonesia.This article not only compares the terrible and ancient taboos of China and Indonesia,but also contrasts the modern taboos of people's civilization.Although there are already some comparative studies on Chinese and Indonesian taboo cultures,but they're targeted only in one aspect of daily life.Therefore,this comparative study of taboo cultures in daily life includes language taboos,dietary taboos,clothing taboos,residential taboos,and behavioral taboos.This article describes the taboo culture in every aspect of daily life in China and Indonesia,compares the taboos of the two countries,finds similarities and differences,and suggests the reasons for the differences.The results of the study indicate that the reason for the difference in taboo culture between China and Indonesia is religious belief.Religious beliefs are important to Indonesian,it affects every aspect of people's lives.I hope this study can help students from both China and Indonesia to understand the cultural differences between China and Indonesia,avoid some taboos,and learn smoothly.
