In the teaching of Chinese as a foreign language,as a non-negligible part,medium language has received more and more attention from experts and scholars in recent years.Meanwhile,the principles and strategies of using medium language in the process of teaching Chinese as a foreign language deserves furhter discussion.According to the investigation during internship in Shenyang City University,this paper investigates the current situation of the application of medium language teaching Chinese in Shenyang City University from the subjective and objective perspectives which are based on class observation and a questionnaire survey on medium language use.And the degree and difference in the use of medium language in different procedures of classes in the elementary stage of teaching Chinese as a foreign language are analyzed.Combined with the students' survey on the attitudes of teachers' use of medium language,it summarizes the intentions and needs of students and demonstrates the necessity of application of medium language,and then puts forward feasible teaching suggestions.This paper is divided into five parts.The first part is the introduction,which mainly introduces the background and research significance of the topic,the research status at home and abroad,the definition of medium language,research methods and theoretical basis.The second part introduces the basic information of teachers and students of Shenyang City University and concludes the use of medium language.First,the datas of the students and teachers of Shenyang City University are summarized to be examined,the country,age,Chinese level and English level of the international students;the teachers' teaching age,major,and English level.Secondly,through recording the class teaching activities,the three parts of the class introduction,explanation and practice are recorded,and representative fragments are selected for tapescripted.Finally,the results of class observations are summarized from a subjective perspective and comparatively analyzed.The third part investigates the use of class medium language questionnaires and students' attitudes toward the use of teachers' medium language,and studies the use of medium language from an objective perspective,and then analyzes and summarizes the survey results.The fourth part aims to reflect on the use of medium language in the elementary stage through previous research and analysis,on the basis of which,put forward effective teaching suggestions.The fifth part summarizes the research results of this thesis,and points out the shortcomings.
