“Mandarin fever” warms up across the world, which brings the increasing number oflearning Chinese, teaching and researching Chinese. The research of TCSOL teachingmethods has become one of the hottest academic researches. During the whole learningprocess, the elementary stage is the beginning stage and a very important aspect for foreignstudents. Especially, it’s necessary to inspire foreign students’ interest and enthusiasm oflearning Chinese.Chinese teaching with interest is not only one important principle and method of teachingChinese as a foreign language, but also the indispensable part of teaching methods. But theresearch of teaching with interest is weak. This paper analysis the situation and the mainproblems in the using of Chinese teaching with interest applied in instructional design,teaching process, teaching effects by investigation and comparison. This paper gives feasibleinstructional design and suggestions. The full essay is composed of four parts.The first chapter is the preface which introduces the situation and the problems of thecurrent Chinese teaching to foreigners both at home and abroad. This part introduces thefoundational theory of Chinese teaching with interest from two aspects of pedagogy andpsychology.The second chapter is the base theory of this paper. Based on the overview of the researchon teaching a language in a fun way and the theory involved, this paper mainly summarize thefollowing characteristics: artistic, creative, stimulating and emotional. This paper deals withthe importance of teaching Chinese as a foreign language in a fun way in elementary class andrequirements for teachers and students in all respects concerned and gives five teachingmethod in teaching in a fun way.The third chapter is the research of Chinese interesting teaching methods implemented inTCSOL. This chapter addresses the base methods in the terms of five lesson types includingoral class, listening class, writing class, reading class, comprehensive class. This part presentssome basic approaches to this way of class activities based on the actual teaching cases. Thispart expects that Chinese teaching with interest can be used to class practices.The fourth chapter gives a simple summary of this paper and reflects the shortage. This part reaches the conclusion that the final goal to achieve is to help enable students to have a senseof achievement and to arouse students’ interest and passion in learning, this article will beinstructive to those who teach foreigners Chinese in their work.
