In 2015,our country fully implemented the policy of "national examination" of teachers' qualification certificate in order to establish the national teacher qualification examination system,strict the admission of teachers' profession and guarantee the quality of teachers' team.The implementation of the “National examination” has a certain impact on normal school students and the related normal professional field.Under this background,the training mode of normal school students ought to highlight their characteristics of the teacher education,and meet the requirements of teachers' qualification certificate "National examination" for normal students.Based on the analysis of relevant policies and literature,the author,taking the English normal major as an example,expounds and analyzes the problems existing in the cultivating of English normal students in Y University,and then proposes improvement strategies.The current thesis is divided into five chapters:The first part is an overview of the "national examination" of teacher certificate.It explains the origin,content and significance and the impact of the "national examination" on the normal colleges.The second part is the specific requirements of the "national examination" of teacher certificate for the cultivating of English normal students,which will be interpreted from four aspects: “comprehensive quality”,“educational knowledge and ability”,“English subject knowledge and teaching” and “interview”.The third part shows the present situation of Y college English teacher education from three aspects: the distribution of students,the teaching staff and the teaching facilities.Through the questionnaire investigation and interview,it is concluded that there are five problems of the normal students who major in English in Y university.They are “having not got a firm career ideal”,“the lack of the educational knowledge and ability”,“the short of knowledge and the teaching ability of English subject”,“the insufficient ability of practical application of teaching”.and “the incomplete understanding of the national examination”.The forth part is the attribution analysis of the existing problems of English normal majors in Y University from the aspects of school,curriculum,teachers and students.The reasons of the school can be described as: “the goal of talent training is not clear and too much attention is paid to the increasing rate of students' postgraduate examination”;The reasons of the curriculum are: “the curriculum of education and teaching is humdrum,the curriculum of English subject is short of the characteristics of normal education and the practical training is deficient”;The reasons of teachers include "the lack of understanding of the national examination and the shortage of Double Teachers";And the students' reasons are “ the motivation for the examination is not clear and active learning is not enough”.The last part is the countermeasure adjustment to the cultivating of English normal majors in Y University,which is pointed out based on existing problems,perfecting the cultivating of English normal students in Y University from the aspects of clarifying the cultivating objectives,optimizing the curriculum structure and strengthening the practical teaching.
