The Evolution Of Chinese Hip-hop Culture And Its Subculture Reflection

Hip-hop culture first emerged in the slums of the United States in the 1970 s.With the advancement of globalization,it gradually spread around the world and was sought after and loved by young people all over the world.Hip-hop culture has been introduced to China for decades,but it was not until 2017 that hip-hop culture became popular in China and became one of the sub-cultural forms of public attention.As a kind of youth subculture,the spread of hip-hop culture not only has the commonness of subculture,but also has its particularity.The spread of hip-hop culture in China has attracted wide attention,it has both theoretical and practical significance of research value.Starting from the theory of youth subculture,this paper studies the communication process and connotation changes of Chinese hip-hop culture.This paper introduces the hip-hop culture and its characteristics in detail,sorts out the evolution of hip-hop culture in China,analyzes the process of its transformation from underground niche communication to mass communication,and focuses on the role of communication.The study found that the spread and evolution of hip-hop culture in China has promoted the change of its connotation,which is manifested in the weakening of resistance discourse,the gradual opening of the development trend and the increasingly localization of hip-hop spirit.At this time,hip-hop culture also presents some characteristics of post-subcultural style,such as tribalized virtual community,mixed content presentation and flowing symbolic meaning,which all indicated that hip-hop culture had gradually changed from subculture to post-subculture.In view of the phenomenon of the spread and evolution of Chinese hip-hop culture,this paper combined with relevant theories for the subculture reflection.It is believed that communication and media played a vital role in this process.The two are the key forces to promote the development of post-subculture of hip-hop culture.The paper also pointed out that the post-subculture transformation of hip-hop culture has both positive and negative significance.In dealing with the development of youth subculture represented by hip-hop culture,we should correctly understand the influence of communication in this process,play and balance the positive construction of youth subculture.At the same time,we should correctly handle the relationship between youth subculture and mainstream culture,and maintain a good state of communication and interaction between the two,so as to better promote the further development of youth subculture.
