As globalization takes hold, countries around the world are increasingly entangled both economically and culturally.Nonetheless,Chinese literature still faces many barriers in the process of “going out.” The balance between catering for foreign readers' expectations and reaching the goal of cultural exportation in the translation of Chinese literature has been a problem.Homi K.Bhabha's post-colonial translation theory proffers direction and guidance in addressing this problem.Within Bhabha's theoretic domain, theories of hybridity and the Third Space work well in enabling Chinese culture's going-out.The author of this translation report holds that in cultural translation, foreignizing and domesticating translation strategies can be alternatively applied in order to reduce possible barriers in the understanding of text for foreign readers. The report itself consists of five chapters.Chapter one is an overall introduction of the chosen material.Chapter two elaborates the cultural factors in the text and the problems they cause in the translating process.Chapter three mainly introduces the theoretical guidance used in the translation.Chapter four illustrates the difficulties during translation and according solutions.Chapter five is the conclusion part.
