A Report On The C-E News Translation In China-AESAN Panorama From The Perspective Of The Communicative Translation Theory

With the further development of the “Belt and Road” Initiative,China and countries and regions along the Belt and the Road have more and more frequent exchanges and cooperation in economy,politics and culture.As an essential communication media,news enables the public to obtain the latest information at home and abroad in time,and therefore serves as an important tool in people's life.However,since Chinese is a complex language,most foreign readers have difficulty in reading Chinese news,which makes news translation practically significant.This report analyses the strategies of news translation at the lexical,the syntactic and the textual level by illustrating typical translation examples from China-ASEAN Panorama under the guidance of Peter Newmark's Communicative Translation Theory.Through case analysis,the author draws a conclusion that when translating a text with the target readers as the center,the effect of information transmission as the focus and delivering information to readers as the purpose,Peter Newmark's Communicative Translation Theory can further improve the quality of the translation and thus realizing the goal of information transmission.Through this translation project,the author hopes to have a further analysis of the translation strategies of words,sentences,and paragraphs in the news to provide experience and reference in this field.The author hopes that this study could make a useful supplement to the research in the C-E translation of news.
