Agricultural machinery industry is the upstream industry of agricultural production and agricultural product processing.Furthering the international cooperation in agricultural machinery can increase relevant supply,improve farmers'livelihood,raise agricultural production efficiency,expand agricultural product trade and drive technological progress in agricultural machinery.From October 14,201 8,to October 28,2018,the author,as an English interpreter,participated in the 4th China-UNCSAM Training and Study Tour for Agricultural Machinery Manufacturers and Distributors organized by the Center for International Corporation Service(CICOS).Based on LI Changshuan's practical framework of"Understanding,Memorizing,Expression and Emergency Response"(UMEER),this thesis analyzes the Chinese-English consecutive interpreting of a lecture during the tour.The thesis consists of four chapters.Chapter one introduces the background of the project and the interpreting task.Chapter two describes detailed work at all stages.The main body of the thesis,chapter three,firstly introduces the UMEER framework.Then the chapter analyzes the task's cases based on the framework and presents reflections on the task and solutions to certain problems.Chapter four summarizes the author's experience.The author's lessons learned include:advance preparation is crucial and the client education is necessary when clients are not cooperative in this process;intervention should be made when the speaker speaks too fast;emergency skills need to be acquired;and the clients' feedback and trust are of great significance.
