Meaning in life is widely regarded as the key factor of human happiness and prosperity and plays an important role in maintaining individual positive psychological function.As the main driving force to promote social progress and scientific and technological development,college students should be guided to correctly understand the meaning in life and pursue the value of life,which is conducive to a healthy life for college students and make them face the future pressure and frustration calmly.As a positive psychological quality,gratitude is regarded as an advantageous resource for individuals.From the perspective of positive psychology,this study explore the relationship between gratitude and meaning in life,and try to introduce the subjective well-being and perceived social support to explore whether the chain mediary role between the relationship between gratitude and meaning in life,in order to enrich about gratitude and meaning in life,the related research at home and abroad.In this study,598 undergraduates were surveyed with questionnaires.Firstly,the reliability and validity of the scale were analyzed with SPSS19.0 and AMOS20.0.Then,descriptive statistics,independent sample T-test,one-way ANOVA,correlation analysis,multiple regression analysis and chain mediation analysis were used to explore the relationship between gratitude and sense of life.The results were as follows:(1)To test the reliability and validity of Gratitude scale(GQC-6),Meaning in Life scale(MLQ),Subjective Well-being scale(SWLS)and Perceived Social Support scale(PSSS)adopted in this study.(2)College students' gratitude,sense of life significance,subjective well-being and perceived social support are all on the upper middle level.(3)Independent sample T-test and one-way ANOVA showed that there were significant differences about gratitude among college students in gender,grade and specialty,but no significant differences in whether they were single,family location and family structure.(4)Through independent sample T-test and single factor analysis of varience,it was found that there were significant differences in the meaning in life between gender and grade.There was significant difference in grade in the dimension of life meaning seeking.And there are significant differences in the dimension of life meaning experience in gender,grade and major.(5)Independent sample T-test and one-way ANOVA were used to analyze the subjective well-being of College students.It was found that there were significant differences in gender,grade and only child and non-only child,but no significant differences in major,family location and family structure.(6)Independent sample T-test and one-way ANOVA showed that there were significant differences in perceived social support among college students in gender and grade;significant differences in family support dimension on grade,one child and non-one child and family location;significant differences in friend support dimension on gender and grade;and significant differences in other support on gender.(7)There is a significance correlations among college students' gratitude,meaning in life,subjective well-being and perceived social support.(8)College students' subjective well-being and perceived social support are mediators between gratitude and meaning in life.(9)College students' subjective well-being and perceived social support play a chain mediating effect between gratitude and sense of life meaning.Through the above results,we can draw the conclusion that University Students' gratitude can positively predict meaning in life,and subjective well-being and perceived social support can partly mediate the relationship between gratitude and meaning in life,and college students' gratitude can influence meaning in life through the chain mediation of subjective well-being and perceived social support.
