Chinese idioms have been both a primary focus point and a significant source of difficulty for students of Chinese as a foreign language, but they are also an object of interest for many foreign students learning Chinese. This thesis is based on the author's personal experience of learning Chinese and investigating the similarities and differences between Chinese and Turkish idioms. This paper consists of five chapters.Chapter One describes the background and motivations of this topic choice and elaborates on the research object and research methods.Chapter Two describes the idioms studied in this paper mainly as color-based idioms and animal-based idioms and summarizes the color-based idioms and animalbased idioms in the Chinese and Turkish languages.Chapter Three makes a detailed comparative analysis of animal-based idioms in the Chinese and Turkish languages, with the representative animals "horse","dog","wolf" and "lion" as the starting point.Chapter Four makes a detailed comparative analysis of color-based idioms in the Chinese and Turkish languages, focusing on the colors black and white.Chapter Five gives some suggestions for Turkish students to learn Chinese idioms and gives specific suggestions and feasible implementation methods for different levels of scholarship, whether junior, intermediate or senior. There are many similarities and differences in language expression between China and Turkey, which also poses difficulties in language-learning between the two countries. The author hopes that this paper will promote the cultural research of adult education in China and Turkey and strengthen the cultural exchange and learning between the two countries.
