The Narrative Of The First-person Documentary

At the end of last century,with the appearance of portable video recording equipment,people’s desire of expression and recording increased day by day,thus the first person documentary came into being.Unlike previous documentaries,which emphasize objective records and the perspective of bystanders,the first-person documentary takes "I" as the center and uses the first-person expression.After entering the new century,the first-person documentary has gradually ushered in the creation peak.The digital new media platform with the network technology as the support,then has provided the broader dissemination prospect for the first-person documentary’s prosperity.This paper takes the narrative of the first-person documentary as the research object,using the methods of literature research and film and television case analysis.On the basis of domestic and foreign theoretical research,it carries on the depth excavation and the analysis from the perspectives of the narrator,the emotional expression in the narration,the narrative language style and so on by making a contrast between the graduation design works and other representative first-person documentaries.Based on this,it analyzes and summarizes the narrative characteristics of the first person documentaries.The argumentation of this paper is based on the analysis of related concepts,classification and research status.This paper sorts out the development history of the first-person documentary,sums up the basic characteristics and the definition of the concept of the first-person documentary,and tries to classify the types of the first-person documentary according to its characteristics.In order to facilitate the study,this paper starts from the perspectives of the construction of the narrator’s identity,the emotional expression in the narrative,and the documentary nature of the narrative language style and analyzes the identity characteristics of the narrator from the perspectives of the first-person narration and the popularization of the narrator’s identity.It expounds the expression of the narrator’s subjective feeling in the film,the objective description to assist the narration and the demand of the narrator’s emotional interaction from the perspective of audio-visual language of the first-person documentary narrative language style.It is found that the first-person documentary has the problems of narrow narrative theme and fictionalization of narrative content at present,and it is believed that the advancement of creative technology and the change of recording method have brought new development opportunities for the first-person documentary.
