The New Women's Movement And Women Movement During The Anti-Japanese War

After the outbreak of the comprehensive war of resistance,the women's circles in the Kuomintang District launched a series of anti-Japanese national salvation movements.In 1938,Song Meiling held the Lushan Women's Work Symposium and reorganized the Women's Steering Committee of the New Life Movement Promotion Association to lead the work among women in wartime.It marked the official formation of the women's anti-Japanese united front in the Kuomintang area and the women's movement in the Kuomintang area began to enter a new stage.Under the leadership of the women's anti-Japanese united front,no matter at the front or in the back area,Chinese women actively plunged into the wave of safeguarding national independence and struggled for self-liberation.This thesis aims to review the women's movement in this period through Women's New Movement.The emergence of women's publications has become a frontier for the promotion of women's movements.Meanwhile,it has provided an important perspective for the study of women's movements in modern times.Women's New Movement,the journal of the Women's Steering Committee of the New Life Movement Promotion Association,was founded in Chongqing in December 1938.It is dedicated to raise the ideological awareness of women from different classes,guide women to participate in the anti-Japanese national salvation movement and present the women's national salvation movement during the comprehensive war of resistance by exploring the publications and analyzing the main contents.In the process of inspiring women to participate in the war,this journal,combined with the situation of opposing Japanese aggression,created a large number of artistic works,songs,dramas and so on by relying on national women's organizations and strengthening the forms of inspiring women's movements.It also spread the national salvation spirit of anti-Japanese and inspired the Chinese people to resist in the anti-Japanese war.Meanwhile,it increases the people's confidence to win.In the aspect of self-liberation,the progressive that forces of women in Kuomintang area has organized women's constitutional movement and the women's professional movement.At the same time,women are encouraged to receive education,and the campaign against imprisonment is actively carried out.Women's self-liberation is explored from the aspects of women's participation in politics,occupational equality,women's education and the abolition of feudal customs.The deep-seated relationship between women's liberation and national liberation during theAnti-Japanese War is deeply explored.The women's movement during the War of Resistance Oppose Japanese Aggression basically achieved the goal of supporting the war of resistance and defending the country.It also made considerable efforts in the pursuit of women's liberation.During this period,self-liberation gave way to national liberation and individual rights subordinated to national interests,but it has taken an important step for national independence and national liberation.In line with the trend of the times,Women's New Movement is of vital importance in wartime,which promoted the development of the women's movement to a certain extent and had important ideological values and historical value.
