The Relationship Between Covert Narcissism And Depression In High School Students

Depression refers to the sadness,depression,and the accompanying behavioral maladjustment symptoms,which can hinder the growth of individuals and affect their social adaptation function.In recent years,the public has paid more and more attention to depression,and depression is also showing a trend of younger.After entering high school,heavy academic pressure and various adaptation problems make high school students prone to negative emotions.However,the popularity of most high school psychological classes is low,and students' negative emotions are difficult to relieve.In the long run,depression will occur.Studies have shown that life events are a predictor of depression,and interpersonal distress is also closely related to the level of depression.Because depression can seriously affect the life and learning status of high school students,it is very important to understand the status quo of high school students' depression,explore the influencing factors of depression,and take pertinent measures to intervene in order to improve their mental health level.Therefore,this study selected 600 senior high school students in Ruzhou as the research tools,using the covert narcissism questionnaire,self-rating depression scale,adolescent life events scale,interpersonal relationship comprehensive diagnostic scale,to understand the status of depression of the school students,and explore the relationship between covert narcissism,life events,interpersonal distress and depression.Thirty moderately depressed students were selected as the subjects according to the scores of self-assessment of depression.The effectiveness of group counseling based on interpersonal distress to reduce the level of depression in senior high school students was discussed.The following conclusions were drawn:(1)The depression level of senior high school students is in the middle level.The depression level of female students is significantly higher than that of male students.The depression level of only child is slightly higher than that of non-only child.As for grade,the depression score of senior three students is the highest,the first is the highest,and the second is the lowest.(2)High school students' covert narcissism,life events,interpersonal distress and depression are positively correlated;life events and interpersonal distress play a chain mediating role between covert narcissism and depression.(3)Group counseling program based on interpersonal distress can effectively reduce the depression level of senior high school students,and has significant immediate counseling effect and traceable counseling effect.Based on the above conclusions,this study concludes that the current situation of high school students' depression is not optimistic.Compared with male students,female students are more likely to have depression.The depression level of only child is higher than that of non-only child.Senior one and senior three students have higher level of depression.Covert narcissism,life events and interpersonal distress of senior high school students can positively predict individual depression level.Covert narcissism not only directly affects depression level,but also indirectly affects depression water through life events and interpersonal distress.In view of this,improving the interpersonal status of senior high school students can effectively reduce the level of depression of senior high school students.
