In the late Ming dynasty,when the commodity economy was booming,the development of publishing industry led to a great increase in the demand for preface.As the successor of Wang Shizhen.Li Weizhen,one of the "last five litterateur",had an important position in the literary world at that time.Li's status as a Hanlin academician also made him an ideal target for the writers.There are more than 500 prefaces in his personal anthology,which is itself a literary phenomenon worthy of attention.As a key figure in the later period of the Classicist School.Li Weizhen also had frequent contacts with the Three Yuan Brothers of Gongan School and Zhong Xing,Tan Yuanchun of Jingling School because of the friendship among fellow countrymen in Hubei Province He absorbed and reconciled the thoughts of the three major literary schools in the late Ming dynasty,and expressed them through the book prefaces.In addition to the prefaces for anthologies of relatives and friends in the literary circle,Li Weizhen also wrote a considerable number of prefaces for commercial purposes,and formed a social writing strategy with his personal style in the process of writing a large number of prefaces.From the prefaces of Li Weizhen,we can also smell a more vivid flavor of the late Ming dynasty.
