The Effect Of Interpreter's Professionalism On Consecutive Interpretation

Since the second half of 2016,Chinese construction machinery industry has finally ended its five-year long market adjustment period and returned to the upward trajectory driven by the country's increased infrastructure investment,equipment upgrading and environmental protection policy upgrades.Zoomlion Heavy Industry Science and Technology Co.,Ltd.seized this historical opportunity,and the Chinese experts of the its Central Research Institute with the North American team worked together to develop a new type of excavator.The author has participated in the R&D project as an interpreter performing consecutive interpretation.And he writes this report,summarizing the experience of the interpretation.This report analyzes the effect of interpreter's professionalism(operational definition:professional background knowledge)on the role of interpreters in consecutive interpretation,namely the role of mediation,coordination,secondary creation of interpreting,and continuous learning.At the same time,the author attempts to use interdisciplinary knowledge as in cognition psychology and schema theory to analyze the effect of interpreter's professionalism on the memory and reasoning process of the source language information in consecutive interpretation.The innovation of this report is that the interpreter often uses mathematical formulas,engineering software and other auxiliary tools,such as ProE,ANSYS,MathCad and other effective interpreting methods during WebEx teleconference to save R&D conference costs.There are many fields involved in technical interpreting.This report only analyzes the author's consecutive interpretation of the new excavator R&D project.Transnational science and technology exchanges are becoming more frequent,and the use of interdisciplinary knowledge to study technical interpreting is a major trend.
