The research on peer relationship of junior high school students has always been concerned by researchers.The study of resilience and setback emotions from the perspective of peer relationship is becoming an important aspect of positive psychology research.It has been found that there is a two-way relationship between peer relationship and junior high school students’ resilience,which also affects the adjustment of junior high school students’ setback emotions.However,the current research on the factors affecting the setback emotion of individuals focuses more on personal traits,such as aggression,resilience and psychological capital.Few empirical studies take individual interpersonal relationships into account.Therefore,this study used a combination of questionnaire survey and experimental research.Firstly,549 junior high school students were randomly selected and analyzed by peer nomination,the Resilience Scale for Chinese Adolescent(RSCA)and emotional checklist.Secondly,on the basis of the results of the questionnaire,the experimental subjects were selected to design experiment 1 and experiment 2.The emotional performance of the subjects in the imagined frustration situation and task frustration situation was investigated,and the influence of peer relationship and resilience on the setback emotions was analyzed.The results showed that:(1)A certain proportion of junior high school students have bad peer relationships,accounting for 30.8% of the total number.Peer relationship is significantly different among students of different ages,family backgrounds and their relationship with parents.Whether being left-behind children or the only child also causes differences accordingly.The overall resilience of junior high school students is at a high level.The level of resilience of junior high school students has significant differences in the relationship with their parents.(2)The positive emotions of junior high school students in daily life are at a high level,while the negative emotions are not.There is a significant positive correlation between peer acceptance and some dimensions of resilience.Peer acceptance and resilience of junior high school students with positive or negative emotions are significantly related.Both peer acceptance and resilience can significantly predict the positive emotions of junior high school students.The emotional control factors of resilience significantly predicted the negative emotions of junior high school students.(3)In frustration situations,peer relationship significantly affects the negativeemotions of junior high school students,and junior high school students who are popular among peers have fewer negative emotions.Before and after setbacks,resilience significantly affected junior high school students’ positive emotions,and junior high school students with high resilience have more positive emotions.(4)Psychological resilience and peer relationship have significant interaction with positive emotions in imagined frustration situation.Among junior high school students with low scores of resilience,those who are popular with peers have higher scores of positive emotions.Among junior high school students with bad peer relationship,those who have high levels of resilience gain higher scores of positive emotions.Conclusion and Suggestion:The resilience and peer relationship have different effects on positive and negative emotions after setbacks.Psychological resilience,peer relationship and settings of setbacks will all have an impact on the positive emotions of junior high school students after setbacks,among which resilience has a significant impact on positive emotions after setbacks.And peer relationship has a significant impact on negative emotions after setbacks according to the influence mechanism of peer relationship and resilience on the negative emotions of junior high school students after setbacks.Therefore,to cope with setbacks,we need to integrate and utilize internal and external resources,including resilience and peer relationship.A good family and peer relationship are conducive to the cultivation of junior high school students’ resilience.Family and school education need to focus on junior high school students with bad peer relationship to help them get rid of unfavorable social status.
