Resilience is a quality which can help individuals cope with adversity or stress successfully and relieve the negative impact of traumatic events. Left-behind junior high school students is a group that our society should pay high attention to, and how to improve their psychological health level that they can easily deal with life and learning stress is the research hotspot in this field.In this study, we take the students study in four rural schools of Jiangxi Province as the research objects, and use the questionnaire to survey their resilience, peer relationship and self-concept levels. Then we analysis the relationships among the resilience, peer relationship and self-concept. Based on that, we take a rural school student in Shangrao as the objects. Among those objects, we screen out some students who have low resilience level and provide group counseling for them. Our purpose is to improve their resilience level, offer reference for mental health education and group counseling.The main conclusions of this study are:1. As a whole the level of left-behind junior high school students’ resilience has no significant difference in gender, while target focus, emotional control and positive cognition these factors show significant differences in gender.The left-behind junior high school students’ resilience exist significant differences in grades. The ninth grade is significantly higher than those from seventh grade and eighth grade.2. Left-behind junior high school students’ peer relationship is in a general acceptable level, and peer rejection factor show significant differences in gender that boys encounter more peer rejection than girls.3. Left-behind junior high school students’ self-concept is on the high level.Self-concept has no significant differences in gender and three grades, while there exist significant differences between eighth grade and ninth grade on self-concept that ninth grade’s is higher than eighth grade’s.4. Junior high school students’ peer relationship can predict resilience, but the prediction level is not satisfied, while self-concept can be a significant predictor of resilience.5. Self-concept makes Complete mediation effect between peer relationship and resilience.6. Providing group counseling for Left-behind junior high school students does improve their resilience level with a good immediate effect.
