This article is a translation report.The translation material is selected by Dai Xulong's "The Realization of Chinese Dream in the " Belt and Road " Initiative " as a translation material,which introduces the content and significance of the Belt and Road Initiative and points out the direction for the practice of the Chinese Dream.Studying and translating this book will help us understand China's major policies,and further explore the English translation skills of the political texts can provide reference for the translation of the same type of political text.This translation report is divided into four chapters.The first chapter is a description of the translation task,and introduces the background and significance of the original text.The second chapter introduces the translation process in detail.The third chapter selects the typical examples for cases analysis.The fourth chapter summarizes the problems and deficiencies in the practice of translation as well as the experience and enlightenment gained.The translator selected Eugene Nida's functional equivalence theory as a guide,and adopted a variety of translation methods to translate acronyms,four-character idioms,non-subject sentences and parallel sentences encountered in the translation process to make the expression of the translation more accord with the language norms of the target readers.In the translation of acronyms,the methods of back translation and free translation were mainly used to make the expression of the translation more in line with the language norms of the readers.In the processing of the four-character structures,the translation strategies of abbreviation,literal translation are used to realize the functional equivalence emphasized by Nida.In the translation of the no-subject sentence,the translator adopts the method of adding the subject,transforming the sentence,and adjusting the word in order to achieve the faithfulness and fluency of the translation.In the processing of the Parallelism sentences,the translator adopts the translation of the split and merge Skills.The translation process follows the lexical,syntactic,textual and stylistic equivalence of functional equivalence theory.and the translator hopes to provide guidance and reference for the translation of similar political texts through the analysis of this type of political text.which helps to realize the functional equivalence emphasized by Nida,and translator hopes to provide translation skills and reference for future translation of similar political texts.
