A Report On The Translation Of Instruction Of Big Data Cloud Platform On Forensic Pathology

This report is based on the C-E translation of Instruction of Big Data Cloud Platform on Foren.sic Pathology,which is under the category of applied translation and mainly introduces the significant parts and using methods of two versions of one software.This material covers English in legal medicine and computer.As a part of medical English,the former is characterized by preciseness and objectivity;and the latter features accuracy and specialty.Meanwhile,the instruction is a kind of pragmatic text that guides users to operate.Under the theoretical guidance of Skopos theory,the translator has summarized methods of translating this kind of materials by integrating her experience to reproduce the source text featuring strictness,objectivity and simplicity and accuracy entirely taking the difference in grammar,sentence structure and expression habit between English and Chinese.Only by this can the target readers accept and understand the target text in content and language.This report is made up of four parts:Chapter One is an introduction to the translation task,including background information and the significance of this project;Chapter Two is the translation process,including translation preparation,translation process,and quality control;Chapter Three is case analysis under the guidance of skopos theory,which consists of the translation of vocabulary,non-subject sentences and long and complex sentences.Specifically,translation of vocabulary consists of the translation of medical and computer English;application of passive voice,imperative sentence and supplement of subject can be used in the translation of non-subject sentences;methods such as amplification,omission,replacement and division can be adopted to deal with the translation of long and complex sentences.The last chapter is the conclusion.This report shows that the translation of this instruction should not only take into consideration the strictness and objectivity features of English for science and technology,but also achieve the core objective of instruction translation,that is,to ensure the target reader can operate by following the instruction.The translator hopes that the translation study on Instruction of Big Data Cloud Platform on Forensic Pathology guided by Skopos theory can help translating personnel and promote the communication in the field of forensic medicine at home and abroad.
