A Report On The Translation Of Sustainable Intensification Of Agriculture-Greening The World’s Food Economy(Chapter 5) | Posted on:2020-07-01 | Degree:Master | Type:Thesis | Country:China | Candidate:P J Si | Full Text:PDF | GTID:2415330578469527 | Subject:Translation | Abstract/Summary: | PDF Full Text Request | The development of technology brings convenience to people,but destroys the resources around us at the same time.In order to protect farmland,scholars put forward the concept of sustainable intensification of agriculture.Based on the characteristics of this university,the translator chose the fifth chapter of a book on agricultural science--Sustainable Intensificatiom of Agriculture--Greening the World’s Food Economy-as the original text for this translation practice.The fifth chapter is Sustainable Intensification on Smaller Farms in Developing Countries,which mainly introduces the intensification strategies of small farms in some developing countries.The translator adopts Professor Li Changshuan’s framework of"comprehension,expression and adaptation"(CEA)to guide this translation practice.This report is divided into six chapters.The first chapter is the introduction,which mainly introduces the current situation of agricultural translation and the significance of this translation practice.Chapter two is description of the translation project from three aspects:pre-translation preparation,translation process and post-translation proof-reading;and introduction of the framework of CEA analysis from three aspects:comprehension,expression and adaptation.The third chapter is the case analysis based on the CEA framework.Chapter four is summary of this translation practice.Through analysis,the translator found many problems in the translation process,such as improper collocation,disordered structure,untranslated implication,language style discrepancy,etc.,and then gave improvement plans for above problems.This translation project is aiming at helping Chinese readers engaged in agriculture understand the current sustainable agricultural intensification in the world,learn and absorb farming practices of other developing countries,so as to better deal with the current problems facing China’s agriculture.It could also be helpful for subsequent translators engaged in agricultural translation. | Keywords/Search Tags: | agricultural translation, "comprehension,expression and adaptation"(CEA) framework, translation practice report, sustainable intensification of agriculture | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
