A Report On The Translation Of A Survey Of Global Impacts Of Climate Change:Replication,Survey Methods,and A Statistical Analysis

Climate change is not only just a subject issue,but has become a major social issue.The international community has also paid great attention to its research progress.Economic development and climate change are closely related,and studying the impacts of climate change on economy can provide reference for economic policy-making.Therefore,studying the relationship between them is of great significance.The source material is a paper entitled A Survey of Global Impacts of Climate Change:Replication,Survey Methods,and a Statistical Analysis,which is a working paper published on the official website of the National Bureau of Economic Research of USA in August 2017.It is a literature review which belongs to papers of science and technology with the characters of precise and concise language.According to these characters,the translator chooses Nida's functional equivalence theory as his guidance.The translator tries to explore the applicability of this kind of papers under the guidance of Nida's functional equivalence theory.This translation task intends to provide reference for other translators and to promote literature communication in this field.The translation report mainly includes four chapters.The first chapter is task description including the background of the source text,its features as well as the purpose and significance of the task.The second chapter is translation process including translation preparation,translation process and quality control.The third chapter is case study.The translation difficulties are summarized in this part.Guided by the four principles of functional equivalence theory,the author analyzes the difficulties from four aspect namely vocabulary,syntax,text and style through concrete case analysis.The fourth chapter is the summary which summarizes the translation experience and some unsolved problems.Through this translation task,the translator intends to enhance his translation ability and to provide a reference for other translators.Besides,the translator intends to facilitate international academic exchange in this field.
