Various technologies in the field of computer science, especially the artificial intelligence which has frequently been used in people's lives in recent years, are pushing society forward at a surprising speed.Artificial intelligence is the strategic commanding height and the technological core of the Internet development in the future, and will lead to profound changes in the industrial structure. The core principle of Eugene Nida's functional equivalence theory is that the target reader can get the same response to the version as the source text reader to the original. This paper attempts to use Eugene Nida's functional equivalence into the EST translation so as to convey the information in science and technology text accurately and to get the most natural and closest translation. This translation practice report mainly analyzes the course of translating the EST text. This report firstly introduces.the source of the text and its linguistic characteristics, such as high frequency of technical terms and nominalization structures at the lexical level, high frequency of passive and complex sentences at the syntactic level, rigorous logic at discourse level,Secondly, the report explains the process of translation, including pre-translation preparation, selection of tools during translation, formulation of translation plans, and quality control of translation.Next, from the perspective of functional equivalence theory, the report analyzes the translation of computer science texts in terms of study the lexical level, syntactic level and discourse level. In the end,the report summarizes the entire translation process as well as the major findings and limitations of the translation research.By applying functional equivalence theory to EST text translation, the practice report has shown that functional equivalence theory can play a positive role in improving the quality of EST text translation. This study provides a reference for the translation of computer-science-related texts in the future and arouses the interest in the translation and research of texts related to computer technology.
