The Comparative Study On Linguistic Features And Translation Techniques Of Business Contracts Between Chinese And Vietnamese

At present,with the development of globalization,all countries in the world are expanding and promoting exchanges as well as cooperation with each other.China and Vietnam are no exception,especially in the field of trade.China and Vietnam are two neighboring countries with multi-faceted,long-lasting,traditional relationships.In recent decades,this business relations between the two countries have developed strongly,affected many aspects of the economic and social development of both nations and brought a lot of economic benefits for both countries.Up to now,various Chinese companies and enterprises have invested in many large and small investment projects in Vietnam,China has become an important cooperaring business partner of Vietnam.Vietnam has also become a partner of China with close cooperation in many fields.With the continuous development of bilateral relations between China and Vietnam,the demand for learning Chinese and Vietnamese is increasing dramatically.During the process of trading between the two parties,it is inevitable to translate the business contract into Chinese or Vietnamese language.Therefore,understanding the characteristics of the contract language is an important task.The contract is a document with a relatively high legal value.Contracting parties are aimed at clearly defining the obligations and responsibilities of the counterpart.So in the process of drafting,setting up contracts,sometimes in terms of language,how should one write,how words used in the contract,translation principles,translation techniques,etc.are the issues that need to be studied.In this paper,we will compare the language characteristics of the Chinese-Vietnamese business contract,summarize the common mistakes in the translation of business contracts,and study their translation principles and skills.It is believed that this research will play an vital role in the training of translation staff,negotiation and signing of business cooperation between the two countries.At present,the study on the comparative studies on linguistic features and translation techniques of business contracts between Chinese and Vietnamese has not been noticed properly from both academic and pratical perspectives.We hope that this paper will provide a small contribution to Chinese Vietnamese translators studies.
