Documentary film is more suitable form for teaching Chinese as a foreign language than ordinary movies,TV plays or entertainment programs.During learning the language,we should deeply understand Chinese culture and using a variety of teaching materials which can help students to overcome a lot of challenges and encourage them strive for knowledge.In teaching Chinese as foreign language the teaching effect can be improved by using in class a new effective ways of dissemination Chinese culture."Once Upon a Bite " is a food documentary broadcast realized by China Central Television in 2018?which includes eight episodes.The main content of documentary shows people Chinese culture,the different dietary habits and lifestyles of Chinese nation,as well as the historical background of various foods in many regions.The author chooses the documentary "Once Upon a Bite" as the teaching content,focusing on the first episode of the documentary "Between Mountains and Seas",as the teaching case for teaching design,and for make an analysis and estimation of teaching practice.The introduction of this paper is about the reasons of choosing the topic,research value,present research situation,research objects and methods.The first chapter i5 the theoretieal basis and advantages of documentary assists teaching culture based on audio-visual teaching method and intercultural communication theory,which illustrates a feasibility of practical application of Chinese cultural documentaries in teaching culture at the Oriental Language Department of Pyatigorsk State University.The second chapter is about principles of selection documentaries and principles of teaching by documentaries,the principles of selection documentaries which suitable for students Chinese level,to mobilize students enthusiasm and enrich cultural content;principles of teaching by documentaries are principle of pertinence,scientific principle and principle of interest.Based on the above principles,this paper carry out the teaching design of "Once Upon a Bite M documentaries as a teaching content.The third chapter is about the front-end analysis of the teaching design of the cultural documentary "Once Upon a Bite " in teaching Chinese as a foreign language.The main contents includes teaching contents,basic analysis of teaching methods,etc.The fourth chapter is about classroom practice and evaluation of the teaching design of "Once Upon a Bite·Between Mountains and Seas n.This chapter includes teaching aims,class hours arrangement,detailed teaching practice record and evaluation,and design of test questions based on the teaching content of this lesson,as well as conducted questionnaires after the class and teaching results,including students feedback and evaluation and analysis of pros and cons of the teaching design.The fifth chapter is about teaching suggestions,expect to provide references for application of documentary film ip teaching culture.Through the teaching design of "Once Upon a Bite·Between Mountains and Seas",this paper explores the feasibility and practical results of introducing documentaries into cultural courses of TCFL,confirms the significance of documentaries in cultural courses of TCFL?and puts forward some preliminary suggestions about application of Chinese culture documentary applied to Russian-Chinese culture teaching.
