Lv's Spring and Autumn is a book which integrates and summarizes the ideological and cultural resources in Pre-Qin Dynasty.Lv Buwei,the Chancellor of Qin Dynasty gathers the wise men from different kingdoms to write this book,in order to construct theoretical basis for the upcoming Great Unity.Based on the stylistic and ideological characteristics of this book,this thesis studies the formation of the unprecedented writing structure as well as thoughts,hence exploring the unique writing purpose and compilation of this book.At the same time,from the perspective of cultural study,the factors of regional culture and the sense of Great Unity is studied,thus revealing the abundant cultural connotation and its influence.At the end,the literary features and literary thoughts demonstrating the literature values of the book are explored.This thesis is constructed by three parts:In the first chapter,stylistic and ideological characteristics and the reasons of their formation in Lv's Spring and Autumn are explored.The unique structure embodies the order and system of the writing style.And the different implications of the style not only demonstrate the features of the book,but also reveals some information about the writing environment.Learning from the pre-Qin thinkers and history in order to serve the present governing is not only the demonstration of ideological characteristics in the book,but also the writer's intention of writing the book.The stylistic and ideological characteristics come into being due to the author's attempt to integrate different schools and establish Great Unity and its unique compilation method.The second chapter discusses the unique cultural connotation.Written in the kingdom of Qin,the book reflects the regional features of Qin's land.The open-mindedness,practicality,advocation of force,and other popular thoughts and religious beliefs are all reflected in the book directly or indirectly.The particular writing purpose has stressed on the concept of Great Unity.And the concept in the book not only serves the cause of unity,but also plans the experiment of a King-dominated government after unity.Besides,as the first attempt of constructing a Great Unity culture,the writing ideality and political views of Lv's Spring and Autumn enlightens the formation of the Great Unity culture in Qin and Han Dynasty.The third chapter reveals the literary value of Lv's Spring and Autumn.The 160 articles in the book are almost all argumentation,which is gradually developed by pre-Qin thinkers,and become mature in the late period of the Warring States.Therefore,the literary features in organizing structure,arguing method,writing style of Lv's Spring and Autumn is not only an important part of its literary value,but also an integrated embodiment of pre-Qin argumentation.The reference of the relationship of language and its meaning,music and politics and techniques of creation,appreation of art in this book is not deliberate,but the discussions can also reveal writers' basic understanding of literature and art,as well as the absorption of pre-Qin trend of thoughts.
