Different from the previous advice studies, which mainly focus on advice taking, this study will consider from the perspective of advice-seeking and advice-giving,a total of three experiments were conducted to explore the impact of the gaze direction of advice seekers on the willingness of advisors to give advice.Experiment 1(N=107)was designed as a single-factor experiment. The independent variables were divided into two levels:direct gaze and averted gaze, the dependent variables was the main intention of advice-giving willingness,to explore the main effect of the gaze direction of the advice seeker on the intention of the advisor to give advice, and whether the perceived role expectation by the advisor mediates the relationship between gaze direction and the intention to give advice;Experiment 2(N=315)was designed as a 2*2 experimental room.By adding the measurement of rejection sensitivity, the repeated verification of the main effect and the mediating effect on the group of students in different situations was investigated,as well as whether the rejection sensitivity of the advisor moderated the relationship between gaze direction and the intention to give advice;Experiment 3(N=198)collected experimental data through questionnaires,to investigate whether the whole model was still valid when employed employees as subjects in the self-designed organizational context, and it is checked whether the moderated mediate exists.Using statistical analysis methods such as analysis of variance, regression analysis, and Bootstrap, the results show that when the advice seekers gaze is direct,it can promote the advisor's willingness to give advice. This effect is not due to the change in the attractiveness of the face, but the mediating role of the perceived role expectation by the advisor. In addition, when the advisor's rejection sensitivity is high,it is recommended that the adviee seeker's gaze direction has a significant influence on the willingness to give advice;when the advisor's rejection sensitivity is low,the effect may be weakened or disappeared,It shows that the sensitivity of rejection plays a moderating role in the effect of gaze direction on advice-giving,and it also moderates the mediating effect of perceived role expectation. Finally, the article discussed the significance of the results and future directions of the study.
