The development of modern society acquires that the English Teaching in vocational colleges must be based on practice, it advocates language learning should be practical and sufficient to meet the need of social development. The most popular way to inspect teaching result in vocational college is the Practical English Test for Vocational College Students, but the test pattern is too old-fashioned to fully assess students'comprehensive language ability, and restrict the development of teaching reform, it also hits enthusiasm in both teachers and students. To meet the need of teaching reform and social development, it is necessary to change the examination mode. This thesis introduces English teaching reform in vocational colleges, drawing on some typical domestic and foreign test models, to explore more suitable test mode for Practical English Test for Vocational CollegeThe thesis takes Qingdao Hismile College as an example, by analyzing the results of the questionnaire of students and interview teachers, and investigating some popular foreign language tests such as IELTS, PETS and CET test mode, it makes conclusion that the Practical English Test for Vocational College needs not only to change the old test mode, but also to change the backward the scoring system, and by adopting a variety of test mode, to test students'Comprehensive English application ability. To play the best results of test, can not only let students experience usage of learning, also can let teachers feel the meaning of education. Test mode reform can not be finished in a day time, it needs step by step to meet the demand of teaching and social development.
