A Translation Report On Supply And Demand Information Of The Enterprise Europe Network(EEN)

With the deepening of globalization of the whole society,information of enterprises is playing a more and more important role in bridging different enterprises with different cultural background,and therefore the study of information translation is of great importance.This thesis tries to use Peter Newmark’s communicative translation theory to study the methods of network supply and demand information translation.In Newmark’s theory,communicative translation pays more attention to the conveying of the important information of the Source Language(SL)into the Target Language(TL),and the purpose of doing so is to have a good communication with the readers of the TL,so the translators should try to produce the same effect on the target readers as is produced by the original text on the source readers.This translation report is based on the texts that the author has translated from the original network English version.Originated from the Enterprise Europe Network,the translation materials focused on ten areas:Biotechnology,medicine and cosmetics;Chemicals;Health care;ICT industry and services;New materials;Nanotechnology and Micro technology;Automobiles,Transportation and Logistics;Services and Retailing;Smart Energy;Innovative Industries.At present,there are 110 translated articles which,collectively,exceed 134,911 Chinese characters.In the process of translation,the most difficult issues of network information texts are the handling of technical terms,proper names and long sentences.The author proposes that translators should follow three criteria when applying communicative translation theory to guide information translation:the translation of proper names should be guided by the target language;the translation of technical terms should not be fixed but temporal;the integration of information is the key to long sentence processing,and translation should be consistent with the content of the industry.According to the EOI platform feedback,more than 300 enterprises in Hunan Province have been successfully linked to European companies with the help of the author’s translation.
