The school-based English curriculum development can broaden both students' and teachers' learning channels and improving students' English learning level and cultural awareness.However,there are few researches on the development of English school-based curriculum at present.Taking the development of English school-based curriculum in Wuhan D School as a case,this thesis analyzes the existing problems and their causes,and provides methods for improving the development of school-based English curriculum in primary schools.This study mainly uses the literature analysis method,the interviewing method,the physical collection method and the action research method.Firstly,this study defines the concepts of school-based curriculum development,and the implementation procedure of school-based curriculum by using the method of literature analysis.Secondly,this study D Primary School in Wuhan as a case,describes the background,course and process of the primary school English school-based curriculum development.From the background of school-based curriculum development,based on creating a characteristic culture of school,building a famous brand school,completing the project and promoting development of teachers and students,the school-based English curriculum development of D school is implemented.According to the course of the school-based curriculum development,the school has gone through the early exploration stage of two rounds of school-based curriculum development;the English school-based curriculum development is the basis of the first two rounds of exploration.In this school-based English curriculum development,D school promotes curriculum development by the cooperation of universities and school,and with the education research team of C University.From the characteristics of the time and stage of the development of the English school-based curriculum,the process of the school-based curriculum development in this school can be divided into five stages:the initial stage of the development of the primary school English school-based curriculum,the early stage of investigation,and the stage of formulation of the scheme;the stage of promoting school-based curriculum;the stage of compiling and summing up experience.In this new round,the school-based English curriculum development not only obtains the achievement,but also has some problems.Based on interviewing with the main participants of the school-based curriculum,this study analyzes the problems and causes of the development of the English school-based curriculum.These problems are as follows:the time limit of school-based curriculum development and implementation;lacking of ability and consciousness of teachers' curriculum development;the tendency of formalization and utilitarianism in school-based curriculum development;The evaluation basis of school-based curriculum is weak and the evaluation system has not been established yet.The main causes are that there is a great cultural difference between the cooperation;the management school-based curriculum development in the school;inadequate use of curriculum resources.On this basis,this study probes into the countermeasures to improve the school-based English curriculum development in D school:first,to improve teachers'awareness and ability of curriculum development;second,to establish a cooperative relationship between colleges and universities based on cultural integration,and to move from cultural conflict to cultural integration,and to improve the development of English school-based curriculum in D school.The third is to optimize the content of the English school-based curriculum to ensure the implementation of the school-based curriculum;fourth,to establish a rich and shared curriculum resources to improve its utilization rate;fifth,to establish a school-based curriculum evaluation system based on evaluation to promote learning,evaluation to promote education.Sixth,improve the school curriculum management.
