Language ecology is first put forward by Einar Haugen in 1971,which refers to the relationship between any language and its environment.Language ecology focuses on the mutual relation among language and other ecological factors, thus offering a new perspective for language study. For the moment, studies on English loanwords in Chinese mainly explore its sound, form, meaning and the characteristics or its cultural influence but a few are analyzed from the framework of language ecology. With qualitative analysis and questionnaire, the paper takes English loanwords as the research objective to be analyzed from the perspective of eco-linguistics.It tries to explore language diversity and evolution of borrowed English loanwords. It studies how the natural, socioeconomic and humanistic ecology promotes English loanwords borrowing. And it also discussed how Chinese language ecosystem absorbs, optimizes and integrates with English loanwords as a mean to eliminate the nonstandard influence, showing the creativeness of Chinese nation and its inclusiveness towards foreign cultures.According to the analysis,it is concluded that:first, the borrowing of English loanwords is closely related with the lexical and pragmatic diversity of English loanwords on the one hand and its phonetic, morphological sinicization on the one hand.Second, the thriving of English loanwords is also in close contact with natural, socioeconomic and humanistic ecology.Different ecological environment promotes the borrowing of English loanwords;third,English loanwords in Chinese also reflect the openness, dynamics and diversity of Chinese system. It shows the self-adjustment of language system as well as its enrichment and development during integration. But its negative influence shows that overused lettered words influence the regulation of Chinese formal style and cause reading barriers. To sum up,relevant apartments should set targeted language policies. It is needed to adopt flexible norms with the principles of "coexistence of various forms" and "combination of diversified styles" to regulate learners'language use, maintain the balance of language ecology and create a mutually beneficial environment for English loanwords and Chinese.
