The Multi-angle Research Of "Not X And X"

In modern Chinese,there is a distinctive expression �Not X and X�,such as �Not beautiful and beautiful�.On the surface,the first half of the format negates the �X�,and the second half affirms the �X�.In fact,it is a format that expresses the meaning of the twist,which is contrasting in form and also shows richness and vividness in language expression.On the basis of the research of predecessors,this article focuses on the following four aspects by arranging a large number of language materials,combining cognitive linguistics knowledge,and applying structural linguistic theories.The first chapter is the composition and syntactic function of �Not X and X�.We have carried out a detailed analysis of the various components in the format.The use of �Not� in the �Not X and X� format is used in front of the nature of adjectives,verbs and very few nouns to show negative,and the �And� in the structure Indicates the tone of association and the euphemism.�X� can be adjectives,verbs,and nouns,and is dominated by monosyllabic and polysyllabic.The �Not X and X� format can act as a predicate,an attributive,a complement,and a subject in a sentence,or it can appear as a clause in a compound sentence,or as a separate sentence.The second chapter is the semantic relationship of �Not X and X�.We believe that �Not X and X� express a turning meaning,its internal semantics include subjective-objective turning,objective-objective turning,objective-subjective turning,and subjective-subjective turning.The external semantic relations of �Not X and X� also has diversity.It has seven semantic relationships with hypotheses,causality,conditions,progression,juxtaposition,concessions,and transitions.The third chapter is the pragmatic function and characteristics of �Not X and X�.The format has some pragmatic function of anti-expectation,subjectivity,highlighting and information conversion.The fourth chapter is the generation mechanism of �Not X and X�.�Not X and X� has a certain degree of independence in syntax,semantics and pragmatics.Syntactically,it is caused by the recombination of the compound sentence,and finally the form is fixed.Semantically,the semantic interfaces of �Not X� and �X� are semantically docked to form the �Not X and X� of the table-turning meaning.Its logical relationship is very strict and tight,and the semantic opposition is also prominent.Pragmatic factors are mainly discussed in terms of the principles of language economy,pragmatic reasoning,context absorption and perspective switching.The fifth chapter is the study of the related structures of �Not X and X�.�Not X also have to X� expresses the semantics of �no choice,have to do�,with the semantic feature of �non-X impossible�;On the surface,�say X is not X� shows affirmative,but there is euphemism in essence,and slight turning before and after,implying a mild rebuttal.They have commonalities and differences with the �Not X and X� structure,mainly reflected in grammatical features,semantics,pragmatics or opposite styles.The final part of the article is the conclusion,summarizing the main contents of the full text,and pointing out the shortcomings of this paper.
