This paper adopts the methods of literature research,questionnaire survey and statistical analysis,and takes the novel Fortress Besieged which writers by Qian Zhongshu as the research object,and bases on the characteristics of Chinese International Education major and considers the needs of Chinese learner to learn Chinese culture,then makes relevant design of Fortress Besieged as supplementary reading for foreign students in China for autonomic learning Chinese culture.Reveals the importance of autonomic learning in language learning and culture learning by theoretical exploration,and takes the survey of foreign students' learning situation of Chinese culture,then determines the feasibility and necessity of Fortress Besieged as supplementary reading.Studies the theories of second language acquisition,cognitivism and reception aesthetics and so on which to provide theoretical basis for the design of literature as supplementary reading.Studies the connotation of Chinese culture presented in Fortress Besieged for classification design,then designs the teacher-guided course and self-study guidebook of Fortress Besieged as supplementary reading by sorting out and summarizing the culture-loaded words in Fortress Besieged which will help learners solve the reading barriers and culture barriers in Fortress Besieged and improve learners' interest in reading,and use Fortress Besieged as supplementary reading to learn Chinese culture while improve learners' language ability.The innovation of this paper is that from the perspective of learners in the study of second language acquisition,it adheres to the principle of Learner-Centered and regards Autonomic Learning as the goal of lifelong education,then studies the positive effects of literature as supplementary reading on language learning and cultural learning.Points at the characteristics of learners' autonomic learning then makes relevant design of supplementary reading.It is hoped that through assistant reading of literature to increase the learners' interest in literature and train the ability of learners' autonomic learning which will contribute to the realization of the goal of lifelong education.
