Proposed by Prof.Yan Desheng,Logic Translation Theory can be applied to translation practice from the perspective of logic.This theory has been used to various text types such as scientific text and legal text.As a fringe subject,Logic Translation Theory has gotten wide acceptance in translation studies and the potential of Logic Translation Theory is great.However,at present,this theory provides little guidance for social science translation.In fact,this theory is very effective in social science translation,but there are few relevant studies.As we know,social science texts play an important role in non-literary fields and not enough application of the therory is not conducive to the further development of Logic Translation Theory.Therefore,it is necessary to use the Logic Translation Theory to translate social science texts.For better social science translation,this report selects translation material from Coaching Positively—lessons for coaches from positive psychology and further indicates that this theory can be applied to social science translation effectively.This exploration take logic as priority in translation through actual translation practice and hope to sum up some translation skills suitable for social science translation.Through practice,this translation report show that although the translation quality is determined by a variety of factors,the essence of translation is a kind of logical activity,and translators should pay great attention to the logical relationship between the translated language in the process.Besides,social science text is characterized by more rigorous theory and logic.Therefore,the quality of social science translation can be greatly improved by integrating logic into the whole translation process on the basis of Logic Translation Theory.Thus,this theory has a huge space for development.This translation practice has deepened the author's understanding of translation.For example,translation involves not only linguistic knowledge,but also human thinking and logic.The author concludes that the application scope of Logic Translation Theory can be further expanded and the key to social science translation is to clarify the logical relation.Translators should actively learn knowledge outside the language and pay attention to the logicality of thinking and text in the process of translation.
