Reproduction Of Logic In Translation Of Social Science Text

This report is based on the English-Chinese translation of the social science text:Equal Right,Equal Opportunity,which contains the status of education of children with disabilities,the functions of inclusive education,the international implementation of inclusive education and some strategies for problems of education.This logical and objective text is formally styled and clearly structured.The difficult points,specific translation problems that appeared during the process of translation and the solutions of these problems,therefore,are summed up by the translator.The main difficult point that confuses the translator during the translation process is the logical translation in the original text.The translator tries to analyze the problems of logic in words,sentences and paragraphs from three levels: general logic,translation logic and scientific logic.For the general logic,the translator focuses on the problem of inclusion,and uses free translation with a general logic of thinking to translate the text.For the translation logic,the translator focuses on the problem of translation,and translates with translation techniques such as amplification,combination and adaption according to different problems.For the scientific logic,the translator focuses on language mechanism from the perspective of general linguistics to solve the logical problems in translation.Through this translation practice,the author has a deeper understanding of the features of social science texts and sums up the translation skills and methods which are suitable for solving logical translation problems in the social science texts by experience and knowledge of translation.It is hoped that this report may be a source of reference for other translators.
