A Report On C-E Translation Of Urban Planning Texts Aided By Parallel Text

Wuhan is one of the fastest-growing cities in central China.It is in the most critical period of development.In order to further promote openness,attract foreign investment,technology and talents,it is of great significance to strengthen international exchanges and cooperation.Therefore,the writer chose the govermment document The 13th Five-Year Plan for Low Carbon Development in Wuhan(2016-2020)as a translation material,in order to deepen the understanding of China from other countries in the world and establish the responsible image of the Chinese government through the translation of government documents.This can show the broad development prospects,well economic development and a favorable investment environment of the city in central China.This paper selects the more representative two parts of the government document The 13th Five-Year Plan for Low Carbon Development in Wuhan(2016-2020)for translation practice,guided by parallel texts,showing the translation process,from lexical level,syntactic level,and textual level.In this paper,the writer focuses on the application value of parallel texts in the translation of such professional texts,and points out that the effective use of parallel texts can make up for the lack of professional knowledge of translators in professional fields and improve the quality of translation.Finally,the author summarizes the translation project and the method of applying parallel text and the problems that should be paid attention to during application,hoping to provide experience for future translation practice.
