Imagination And Recollection:The Congnition And Its Construction Of Northern Song Dynasty About Yanyun

Song Dynasty is the era of self-consciousness of "Middle Kingdom" awakening.The Northern Song Dynasty’s understanding of "Yanyun" and the change of this understanding can be regarded as a footnote of the process of self-consciousness awakening in Song Dynasty.In fact,the idea of "Yanyun" as the ideal frontier of empire and the ideal dividing line of "Huayi" is not always the same,which was gradually constructed in the Song Dynasty.The understanding of "world","security" and"boundary" in the Tang and Song dynasties was not consistent,and in the Tang Dynasty,the restriction on the political power of Tang implied by "boundary" was inconceivable,and it was in the Song Dynasty that the idea of ’"world" gradually shrank into "Middle Kingdom",the consciousness of the boundary was highlighted,and the idea of it is also being popular.Because of this,"reclaiming the original territory" has become an important political exposition in the Northern Song Dynasty.Groups such as monarchs,bureaucrats and cross-borderers in the Northern Song Dynasty used such political discourse to construct the ideology of "Yanyun" as " Original Territory " on the basis of their respective political purposes.In the political discourse called for "reclaiming the original territory",the monarchs and scholars of the Northern Song Dynasty and other groups imagined the living states and political tendency of the "Hanren" who live in "Yanyun",while the word "original territory" implied the undisputed "sovereignty",both of which strongly advocated the legitimacy and rationality of the dynasty’s military operation to "Yanyun".At the same time,however,this constructed ideology of "Yanyun" is always faced with the challenge of being deconstructed."Hanrenhuhua" for the Observer of the Northern Song Dynasty,in the eyes of the awakening of self-consciousness and the severe distinction between "self’ and "other","Hanren" who live in "Yanyun" were considered as "other".The construction and deconstruction of the ideology of "Yanyun" in the imperial Court of the Northern Song Dynasty reflected a set of contradictions between ideality and reality.On the other hand,in the process of integrating historical memory,along with the awakening of self-consciousness,historians are more and more inclined to recognize"Yanyun" from the perspective of ethnicity and culture,especially in the scribe of "Old Five Dynasties" and Ouyang Xiu,Sima Guang dealing with different materials when describing cross-border behavior during the five Dynasties.In addition,this kind of view also affects the historian’s historical writing to the Liao Dynasty,and on how to understand the strength of the Liao Dynasty,along with the awakening of self-consciousness,historians are more and more inclined to understand from the perspective of what later scholars call "Sinicization".In addition,so that the ambassador in the form of poetry to the " Yanyun" singing and remembrance,the prominent historical memory and "self’ consciousness,for us to understand how the Song Dynasty to recognize "Yanyun" provides another angle.
