English is a compulsory course for primary school students.More and more attention has been paid to English teaching of primary school in recent years.Many researchers have carried out theoretical and practical researches from various aspects of primary school English teaching.One of them is heated discussion among many experts and scholars,and the more worrying is the lack of interest in learning English.In primary school's English class,the proper use of games for teaching,can greatly improve the efficiency of teaching,enhance vitality of the class.The game teaching method enables students to experience the pleasure of learning,acquire eonfidence in a pleasant atmosphere,and lay a good foundation for lifelong learning and all-round development.This paper adopts a literature investigation method,interview method,case analysis and other research methods to observe and study the teaching of English games in primary schools.Through analyzing and reflecting on numerous classroom cases,it puts forward some thoughts and suggestions.It also makes a classification and analysis of different types of English games in primary schools,telling how to target on the scientific and effective methods and ways of students in primary schools.Through this study,the following conclusions can be drawn:the current main three problems in the use of games in English-Teaching of primary schools are listed as follows:the using of games cannot be set up in a reasonable and effective way based on the teaching content;teachers use a single game,teachers' participation is generally not high;the speaking language of teachers during the class is not refined enough as a result of teachers' lacking of teaching experience.The results show that games play an important role in improving students'interest in English learning,and pupils generally like games as a teaching activity.In the implementation of the game teaching methods,relevant suggestions are put forward.1.The choice of games must be made in purposeful,selective,controlled,enlightening and fashionable ways.When designing games,we should fully consider the teaching content,teaching difficulties and other teaching requirements,and design appropriate game activities aceording to the teaching content,teaching diffieulties and teaching purposes.At the same time,according to different teaching contents and purposes,we can choose different forms of game activities,pay attention to the arrangement of time and types,and adopt the enlightening form of game teaching which combines English and other subjects to make students learn English more effectively in a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere.2.Teachers should participate in the game actively,and interact with students to promote communication between teachers and students,while enriching the way of play,enhance students' interest in learning.3.English teachers must establish the idea of lifelong learning,improve their English literacy and teaching ability constantly by accumulating their own experience and learning from the predecessors,make good use of game teaching forms,stimulate students' interest,and make students learn English more efficiently.
