Under the guidance of modern educational thought,primary school English teaching pays attention to improving students' comprehensive application competence and interest in language learning.The game teaching method integrates games and teaching,and its vivid teaching form is helpful to extricate students from boring English language learning.however,with the continuous popularization and deepening of its application,the problems of teachers' insufficient application ability and poor application effect are becoming more and more prominent,and not fully exert the advantages and values of the application.This purpose of this study is to find out the problems existing in the application of game teaching method,explore the causes and put forward the application countermeasures,and selects “T city S primary school fourth grade” as the research object,based on a review of game teaching methods,and guided by the second language acquisition theory,the constructivist theory and the flow theory,through triangular mutual authentication method,the questionnaire method(student),interview method(teacher)and observation method(classroom),the application status of game teaching method in primary school English classroom teaching is truly and objectively understood,and found the following problems: insufficient teaching conditions and unable to guarantee implementation;game teaching method design is not novel and lack of innovation;the rules of the game are unclear and the game guidance is poor;the game is difficult to grasp and the students are involved in differentiation;unexpected phenomenon is not handled properly and classroom discipline is disordered;the summary form and content of the application game teaching method is one-sided.The reasons for analyzing the above problems can be summarized into four aspects: firstly,the school does not pay enough attention to the English classroom application game teaching method;secondly,the teachers' awareness of the game teaching method application and knowledge and skills are weak;thirdly,students' perceptions of game teaching method are biased and their learning habits are poor;lastly,the difficulty of grasping the game teaching method itself.Finally,the author puts forward the application strategy from the four aspects of “support conditions,design and planning,operation and regulation,summarization and reflection of the application of game teaching method”,in terms of the supporting conditions for the application of the game teaching method,it is necessary to increase the input of high-quality resources,the diversity of teaching evaluation ways and the complementarity of organizational teaching and research;in the design and planning,it is necessary to strengthen the teachers' knowledge and skill reserve,fully understand the student groups and seriously study the teaching contents;in the operation and regulation,it is necessary to grasp the difficulty of the game,clarify the rules and discipline of the game,strengthen the ability to handle unexpected phenomena and enrich the classroom evaluation method;in the summary and reflection,deepen selfreflection,formal collective reflection and inductive classroom utility game.
