| China and ASEAN countries have been good partners for mutual benefits and win-win cooperation.In recent years,driven by the establishment of China-ASEAN Free Trade Area,tourism between China and ASEAN countries has seen a rapid development and both sides have worked as the crucial overseas tourist market of each other.As an important channel for deepening the tourism cooperation between China and ASEAN counties,China-ASEAN Expo Tourism Exhibition has been held successfully for four straight years,attracting great attention and obtaining full support of tourism departments at home and abroad.As the author was in charge of the four-day escort interpretation at2018 China-ASEAN Expo Tourism Exhibition,the temporary whispered interpreting performed by the author for the deputy director of Myanmar Tourism Promotion Department at the news conference and awards ceremony,the last event of the tourism exhibition,has formed the backbone for this report.Through exemplification,this report analyzes information omission,misinterpretation,incomplete output and inaccuracy occurring in the interpreting process from the perspective of noise,advance preparation and effort allocation,revealing the impact of noise on interpretation performance and the importance of advance preparation and distribution of efforts.Meanwhile,this report also discusses how coping strategies like anticipation,syntactic linearity,fuzziness,reconstruction,simplification and omission can be employed to tackle tough problems appearing in the totally unexpected and highlyintensive temporary whispered interpreting.Via comparative analysis,this report aims to help the author draw on lessons from the practice,enhance the interpreting ability as well as accumulate some experience useful for temporary interpretation tasks in the future. |
