In this paper,a total of 7 reports in the Science and Technology Column of The Washington Post from August 1st,2018 to September 1st,2018 are selected as the translation objects.Under the theory of intertextuality, the translation strategies are analyzed from the aspects of manifest intertextuality and constitutive intertextuality. This translation report aims to guide translation practice under intertextuality theory. In addition, the author finds and summarizes translation techniques and explores translation strategies for scientific and technological news.Through research, this paper proposes that intertextuality can be applied to the translation of science and technology news not only in analytical way but also in instructional way, being significant for the translation of science and technology news.At the level of manifest intertextuality, the translation function can be realized by matching words with similar meanings in the target language and adjusting the order of words. At the level of constitutive intertextuality, function can be realized by weakening some information and adding notes. In the future, translators would combine the intertextuality theory with other theories to conduct a more comprehensive study on translation strategies of science and technology news.
