A Report On Translation Of 5G Mobile And Wireless Communication Technology (Chapter2)

Mobile and wireless communications have become increasingly primary ways for humans and machines to acquire information.Chinese people are supposed to learn the latest science and technology as soon as possible,thus can keep up with the times.Nowadays,the scientific and technological English text has become an important entrance to outside world about the most advanced communication technology.However,English for science and technology is so special for its words,sentences and texts.So,the author thinks it necessary to know more about this kind of text and to take full advantage of it.Based on the 10050-word translation from English to Chinese,this report aims to understand the scientific and technological English translation to a certain extent.The source text is the second chapter of 5G Mobile and Wireless Communications Technology.The book was published by Cambridge University Press in 2016,giving a comprehensive overview of the current state of the 5G landscape.In this report,the author expounds on the whole translation process with five parts.The first part introduces the source text including the publication information,main content and text analysis.The second part decribes the task including the significance,goal,procedures of the translation project as well as the computer-aided tools.The third part dicusses the translation theory adopted and the theoretical relevance The fourth part mainly talks about the important translation strategies and techniques adopted frequently in the translation process,which are also explained in detail by 21 examples.The last part summarizes the main content of this report and presents the problems and suggetions.In this transltion project,the author concludes that an excellent translator should not only have good languages techniques,rich knowledge,but also devote oneself into professional field.What‘s more,translators who want to improve themselves on translation need to practice more on the basis of theories.The author sincerely hopes that in the future this report can be useful for science and technology text translation.
