| The source text comes from Chapters One and Two of the book Cloud Computing: Concepts and Practices published by Springer International in 2018.The book’s first two chapters introduce the motivation, definition and risks of Cloud Computing, which makes a detailed supplement to the historical evolution of this field. At the same time, the source text puts forward the development trend of future, which plays a guiding role in the expanding process of Cloud Computing. The translation report describes the whole process of translation in detail and analyzes the encountered difficulties under the guidance of functional equivalence theory. The theory of Nida’s functional equivalence is applied in the practice of this translation, aiming to supplement the parallel text for the translation of scientific and technological texts. It also gives some help to the translation study in the future. The translator summarizes the translation skills and strategies in terms of lexical, syntactic and textual levels.Firstly,at the lexical level, the translator should pay attention to the inequivalent expression of some words in the source language and the target language. And the translation method of annotation can be used when translating neologisms.Secondly,at the syntactic level, when translating long and complex sentences, attributive clauses and passive sentences, the translator should adjust the sentence structure and adopt proper translation strategies according to the context.Thirdly,at the textual level,in order to ensure textual coherence, the translation should conform to the expression habits of the target language. |
