During the War of Resistance against Japan,although the political,economic and cultural situation of the country was extremely unstable,the number of literary journals did not decrease.Founded in July 1943,ShuXue(The Research of Calligraphy Theory)has taken an important step for the cause of Chinese calligraphy education in the light of the aim of "explaining and promoting Chinese calligraphy and promoting calligraphy education".As a rare and professional publication on calligraphy education throughout the Republic of China,The Research of Calligraphy Theory not only has a large number of participants,but also brings together experts and scholars from various fields.More than 30 studies and discourses on calligraphy education in the publication present the important characteristics and contents of calligraphy education thought in the later period of the Republic of China: first,popularizing calligraphy as the first term,giving consideration to the improvement of calligraphy.Researchers attach great importance to calligraphy education in primary and secondary schools,and have a comprehensive and meticulous discussion on the selection of models,the compilation of teaching materials,the second order of learning books,the teaching of basic techniques and so on.At the same time,it emphasizes the all-round expansion of calligraphy research,which lays a solid foundation for higher calligraphy education.In the universal education,not only pay attention to the practical level,at the same time permeate the artistic aesthetic level of the appeal.Second,extensive absorption,inclusive package.On the basis of the combination of inscriptions and inscriptions,the researcher advocates to further expand the scope of learning method and the field of view of calligraphy,and at the same time draw on the western scientific methods to make new thoughts on calligraphy education from the perspective of psychology.The third is to pay special attention to other academic skills other than calligraphy,emphasizing that the scholar should have profound knowledge and self-cultivation.By combing the contents and points of view of the relevant papers in The Research of Calligraphy Theory,it is helpful to understand the thoughts of calligraphy education in the later period of the Republic of China,and then to understand the important foundation and basis of this period of calligraphy education.At the same time,it is also for us now.The calligraphy education in China provides some enlightenment and reference significance.
