A Report On Translation Of Tour In China

This report is based on the translation practice of Tour in China,the book is written by Eugene Law after traveling and living in China for a long time.This book is a travel guide with a wealth of information about Chinese history,culture,and geography etc..It can be beneficial to the communication between China and foreign countries to translate the book.The book belongs to informative text and the preface and first part of the book is selected as the translation material.The translation was conducted under the guidance of functional equivalence.The main part of the report is case analysis which analyzes the problems encountered during the translation process and the solutions from these four levels: lexical equivalence,syntactic equivalence,discourse equivalence and stylistic equivalence.In the process of translation some skills and strategies are employed such as conversion,amplification,reconstruction and so on to make the target language naturally close to original language and make the target reader have the same reaction with the original reader.At last,the translator reflects on the whole process of translation practice and summarizes the experience accumulated in the process of translating Tour in China and the problems to be paid attention to in future translation practice hoping that can make practical help to the translation of such texts in the future.Figure 0;Table 0;Reference 28...
