Shanghai International Cultural City Competitiveness Empirical Analysis

From the “Function City" to "Culture City",the culture and economy,politicsl,and society becomes more and more closely,gradually becomes one of important elements in the urban life,and also the core content of urban competitiveness,influence the direction of urban development.Using the method of empirical analysis,this thesis focuson urban cultural competitiveness.At the beginning,the thesis clarify the concept of urban culture,urban cultural competitiveness,and sum up the characteristics of urban cultural competitiveness,constituent elements,and urban cultural competitiveness evaluation system.Then using “world city culture report” to evaluate New York,London,Paris,Tokyo,Shanghai,and conclude the position of Shanghai in the five international cultural metropolis ranks,advantages and disadvantages.Combined with emerging hot spot such as the Internet,new media,this thesis try to conduct a new evaluation system called "Shanghai index",selecting Beijing,guangzhou,hangzhou and Shanghai to compare.For Shanghai to promote the culture competitiveness,it a must to improve the culture construction of districts and counties,especially the central districts.Therefore,pick up the eight central districts for further assessment.Starting from the aspect of city culture,this thesis try to think about city competitiveness,and look forward to this kind of city culture can form invisible spiritual power,play an crucial role in city's image transmission,internal sense of identity and pride,and even promote the sustainable development of the city.
